April 5, 2008

(Nathan) We had bought stuff to cook a nice breakfast this morning, including pancakes, bacon, and eggs, since Mary had told me yesterday that she was craving a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately, her nausea has held that at bay. We're hoping maybe later that we can still have this breakfast, but for now we'll have to wait. We have had the morning session of General Conference on, and watching it. Sometimes Mary has just had to listen from the bathroom. When it came time in the solemn assembly for the Elders to stand and sustain the new Prophet, First Presidency, and Quorum of the Twelve, I stood, and raised my hand to the square and sustained these brethren in their new callings. About that time, Mary made another mad dash up the stairs to the bathroom. Although she had her head near the bowl of the toilet, when they asked for the Relief Society to sustain the brethren in the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve, She did raise her hand. In response to Elder M. Russell Ballard's request that we "join the conversation" about the church, let me take this chance to testify that both Mary and I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, that Joseph Smith was and is the Lord's mouthpiece in restoring the true gospel to the earth, that he is a prophet of God, and translated The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, through the gift and power of God. We both miss President Gordon B. Hinckley dearly, and it was a touching experience about a month ago when we watched his funeral. We both shed tears. He was and is another of God's chosen prophets in these latter days. We both sustain President Thomas S. Monson as the current and living prophet of the church and for the world. I encourage those of you that are members of the church, especially those of you that have blogs, to do the same, and share your testimonies of the church, the gospel, and the Savior online. For anyone reading this that is not a member of the church, we invite you to investigate and learn for yourselves of this wonderful message. I hope that this day you will all enjoy the messages given from General Conference this weekend, and wish you all the best. Until our next post.... have a great day! :)

By the way, if you live in part of the world where you may not be as fortunate to have General Conference on television, check it out online!
