April 27, 2008
(Nathan) Well, it's been a beautiful weekend here in Pocatello, it looks like it will cool back off just a bit, but at least the temperatures are finally going to be getting a little warmer! Saturday after I posted the entry dated that day, Mary and I went out, first so I could get a haircut, but then we had decided to take advantage of the nicer weather. We got lunch at Subway, then went to Upper Ross Park and ate at a picnic table there. There was a little breeze, just enough to make it a tad cool, but out of the breeze, with the sun on your back, it felt great! We then decided to walk around, and went down to Lower Ross Park where we saw the zoo was open (just on the weekends for now apparently,) so we went in. It isn't much, but they have definitely been improving it over the years. I had never realized they had buffalo there. We saw plenty of groundchucks in the rocks in areas between exhibits, and more than a few Canadian geese. A few were on some cliffs just the other side of the fence, literally just a foot or two away. We saw one turning its eggs. Mary rather enjoyed the cougar and the grizzly bears, which she hadn't really ever seen up close, except for maybe once when she was much younger. All this seemed to cause her back to hurt pretty bad. I thought that part of the pregnancy was later, when she will be showing? Anyways, we came back home and had dinner, then curled up on the couch and watched "A Knights Tale" with the late Heath Ledger before he was involved in ways we won't mention here, and while he was still alive. Today the wind was basically non-existent, and it was even warmer. We had Stake Conference, as apparently many of you did if you live in Southeast Idaho, where they televised it with the general authorities from Salt Lake to 67 stakes from Malad to Rexburg to Driggs, including Pocatello, Blackfoot, and Idaho Falls. I had some home teaching to do after lunch, and we went to my parents for dinner this evening, where we went for a walk and enjoyed the weather. So nothing overly amazing, but a nice pleasant weekend. I wish I had some photos from the zoo or something to add pictures here, but Mary didn't seem to want to let me bring the camera. I wonder if she's afraid that I'll do exactly that, put pictures on the blog. Anyways, she's doing good on the pregnancy front, the nausea has been gone for the last few days, just the back pain she had yesterday. I haven't checked the ticker at the bottom of the blog yet today, but I think we're at 10 weeks as of today. only 30 more to go I guess? Hmmm. I just hope that the morning sickness stays away. We were told at the OBGYN that the morning sickness was actually a good sign. It means apparently that the hormone levels are high enough that the pregnancy is sticking, but it does cause major havoc for Mary's stomach. Until next post!
