For those of you that didn't know, Nathan and I now have a son and Natalie has a little brother. Tyson Jerald Rowan was born on May 18, 2011. He was 7lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. On Tuesday morning I had an appointment with my OB. I was dilated to a 4 and 50% effaced. He then stripped my membranes. Later that afternoon I started to have regular contractions but they weren't painful. Nathan decided to come home from work and we went to the hospital. They monitored me for a couple hours and decided to admit me. I got put on pitocin and an antibiotic for group b strep. I had to be on the antibiotic for 3-4 hrs before they could break my water. It went on a lot longer than that. They were going to do it around midnight but 4 other ladies decided to start having their babies about the same time. A RESIDENT came in at 2:30am to break my water but I don't think she knew what she was doing. She "thought" she broke my water but I didn't feel much come out. After that I got my epidural which took a half hour or more to get it in because my lower spine is crooked. That was the worst part for Nathan. He started getting sweaty and nauseous for some reason. After they finally got it in they had me laying on my back and I started to get really dizzy and nauseous and almost passed out. My blood pressure dropped to 80 over 40. They got me turned on my side and it got better. I wasn't making any progress. My OB came in at 6:30am and said that the resident hadn't broken my water so he did it. Around 8am my OB was about to go do a C-section on someone but I started to feel pressure and pain. They checked me and I was ready to push. I only had to push for 10-15 minutes. He was born at 8:18am. I had no sleep all the night I was in labor and all the day the I had him. I was up for close to 40 hrs. straight. Tyson slept just fine that night but I only got about 4 hrs of sleep. I had to set my alarm to wake up and feed him because he just wanted to sleep. We came home last night. He did the same here at home. I had to wake him up to eat. He is very mellow. The most I have heard him cry was when I was changing him into his going home outfit and my hands were cold. He cried more doing that than he did when he got shots. So far Natalie has been pretty good. She likes to watch him. Anyway, I am doing good. I am not in as much pain as I was with Natalie. Here are lots of picts......
